Getting tested
If you suspect you may have antibody mediated psychosis, you may wish to consider participating in the PPiP 2 study. As part of the study, you will undergo a blood test to see if you have the presence of certain antibodies which may be causing your psychosis. To participate in the study, you must be:
- Aged 18 – 70
- Be experiencing your first episode of psychosis or relapse of psychosis symptoms after remission (there needs to be a period of at least 6 months of remission prior to the current episode)
Participants will be recruited until the end of August 2020 and will be paid £10 for taking part. The study is funded by Medical Research Council.
If you are interested in finding out more, you can read an information leaflet or visit the website here. You can also contact ppip@psych.ox.ac.uk.
After undergoing the test, if it is suspected you may have antibody mediated psychosis, you may be invited to the SINAPPS 2 study which is trialling a potential new treatment.
